Dr. Robert V. McCabe is professor of Old Testament and Registrar at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to DBTS, Dr. McCabe taught for four years at Tennessee Temple University, including one year in Temple’s graduate program, Temple Baptist Theological Seminary. He joined the faculty of DBTS in 1983 as head of the Old Testament department. He became Registrar in 1987. He earned the M.Div degree at Temple Baptist Theological Seminary in 1974, and the Th.M. and Th.D. degrees at Grace Theological Seminary, in 1980 and 1985 respectively.

While pursuing his Th.M. degree at Grace Theological Seminary, Dr. McCabe pastored the Ormas Baptist Church in Columbia City, Indiana, gaining valuable pastoral experience. Since coming to DBTS, he has conducted Bible Conferences and served as pulpit supply in numerous churches. He has also been involved in workshops for the Mid-America Conference on Preaching. Over the past few years, he has conducted seminars on biblical creationism in local churches in the Detroit area. In addition to his speaking engagements, Dr. McCabe has written articles and book reviews on a on a popular level and academic level. His articles have appeared in The Sentinel and Frontline; and on an academic level for the Detroit Baptist Seminary Journal.

Dr. McCabe and his wife, Linda, reside in Allen Park and have three children. His daughter Amy and son-in-law Mark Frojd, along with their daughter Briana, live in Lincoln Park, Michigan. His son Bob, a graduate of DBTS with a M.Div., and daughter-in-law Melissa, along with their two daughters Maryn and Peyton, reside in Glendale, AZ. His youngest son Joshua and daughter-in-law Krysten reside in Reston, VA.
