Mid-America Conference on Preaching: October 20-21, 2011

Theme: “Church Planting & Renewal”

Speakers: David Doran, DBTS alumni church planters, the DBTS Faculty, and ICBC Pastoral Staff

Summary: America is definitely not an unreached mission field, but there is still much Gospel work that needs to be done. Population growth and shifts make it critical to plant churches in new areas, but also in areas that have been abandoned. We shouldn’t waste time debating whether we should plant churches in the suburbs or in the city—we should do both. We need more healthy churches, whether those are newly planted or dying congregations that have been infused with new leadership and life. God has graciously used a number of DBTS graduates to plant new churches and rebuild dying churches. We’ve asked a number of them to come and share what God has done and what they think would be helpful for us all to consider as we pray and work for more healthy churches in our own country.

DBTS alumni church planters from around the country will be joining the seminary faculty to address this important theme.
